We’re implementing a new business system (ERP) should I wait before implementing Plantnode?

We know that implementing ERP can be a large project (we have a history of implementing and integrating ERP) and we also understand that it can consume scarce resources.

However, the effort to deploy Plantnode and the training involved will have very little impact on your ERP, or indeed any other, project.

To explain; ERP implementation normally has the greatest impact on the following departments – Finance, Sales, Purchasing, Warehousing and distribution, and of course IT. Typically, relative to these departments the Production area is lightly affected – the introduction of new works orders is an example.

In terms of complexity of implementation Plantnode simply requires some maintenance or engineering time (typically a couple of hours) and then some time for training – which again is a few hours. The load on the IT department is light in that an IP drop is required to the Plantnode unit and a secure method, such as a VPN connection, to allow us and remote users to connect to the box.

Plantnode will deliver value almost immediately allowing insight to production operators, supervisors and management as to how you can increase your productivity.

In terms of ERP implementation the data that Plantnode provides may help you establish or validate production standards or, at an appropriate time, be integrated to complete a view of your business that encompasses all that ERP has to offer as well as the nitty-gritty of the shop floor.

In summary Plantnode offers a real-time management system encompassing OEE and variance reporting that compliments ERP without impacting on your ERP implementation.
